Hallmarks
The quality of Puiforcat pieces is guaranteed by the various hallmarks stamped on each one.
Every object bears the house’s hallmark: a penknife flanked by the initials E and P, for Emile Puiforcat, the master silversmith who founded the Puiforcat cutlery workshop in the 19th century.
Sterling silver pieces also carry a regulatory hallmark in the shape of Minerva’s head, certified by state decree, attesting to the purity of silver.
