Jersey

The Jersey wooden cutlery set offers a contemporary synthesis of form and quality of use. Made in Japan with sakura (cherry) wood, the table cutlery, serving cutlery set, and chopsticks that make up the collection were created by British designer Jasper Morrison. A major figure in contemporary design, he embodies his "super normal" design philosophy in this collaboration by combining the authenticity of wood with the light, radical lines of the objects.

Initially conceived to accompany Donald Judd's “Dinner service” collection, this collection of wooden flatware is a response to the delicacy of the silver that characterizes the products in the catalog. Although it is new for Puiforcat to offer cutlery in this material, the combination of wood and silver was already present in Jean's creations.
In close collaboration with the artistic direction, each piece of cutlery was designed by the English designer Jasper Morrison. A major figure in contemporary design, his work is characterized by simple, light, clean and rigorous lines. In this, he resembles the radicalism of Jean Puiforcat, whose three-pronged fork he uses for this Art Deco-inspired cutlery.

Puiforcat workshop

In the Puiforcat workshop, the techniques used to craft objects remain faithful to those of the great silversmiths of previous centuries: swaging, planishing, embossing, chasing, engraving, etc. The craftsmen of the Puiforcat workshop, located near Paris, always employ the same meticulousness, the same precision, the same gestures, and the same muscles. + info
