This is the heart of our Pantin workshop, north-east of Paris. Vulcan himself, Roman god of fire and metalworking, would feel at home in this lair. At the Puiforcat forge, sterling silver is heated in the lively flame of the blowtorch to soften the metal, thereby avoiding breakage between two phases of manufacturing.
The flame can reach 850°C. At that temperature, the metal turns bright red and the craftsman knows to turn off the heat; otherwise, the silver would reach its melting point. Traces of this distinctive cherry red color can be found in the graphic lines of Puiforcat's visual identity as a loving nod, and even a tribute to the meticulous work of the Maison's craftsmen.
