An honor not reserved only for writers and performing artists, the French Order of Arts and Letters also distinguishes talented craftsmen like Eric Popineau and Arnaud Davenne, silversmiths in Puiforcat's Pantin workshop for 34 and 32 years, respectively.

These awards also reflect the longstanding support of the Colbert Committee, a grouping of 81 French luxury brands that works with the Ministry of Culture and Communication to promote recognition of French expertise. Indeed, the techniques used by Eric et Arnaud to fashion sterling silver works by hand contribute to our common history and cultural heritage.
Transmission of know-how in the workshop
Their tangible relationship with the material, the sterling silver to which the House of Puiforcat owes its renown, has barely changed since Antiquity: regardless of successive waves of modernization, the same attention to detail, the same perfectionism still apply, and silversmiths continue to call on the same gestures and the same muscles. Today, Eric et Arnaud transmit their knowledge and expertise to the workshop's young craftsmen, thus perpetuating the high standards that have always been part of Puiforcat.
